Ipodder fix for Vista!

Do you get this when running Ipodder (Juice 2.2) under Vista?

When I run Juice from my Standard account with XP-compatibility mode turned on, I get a message saying to check the juice.exe.log for details.

The log says:

This because Microsoft took away 'MY" from folders so to fix this you need to do the following things:

Download, install, then browse to the installation folder
Change the EXE compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2 [right-click the executable, flip to the Compatibility tab, place a checkmark in the ‘Run this program in compatibili8ty mode’, then press the OK button]
Open Ipodder.cfg with Notepad and change the output directory from “My Documents” to “Documents” - which is found under C:\Users\username\appdata\Roaming\iPodder [by default]
Launch Juice

This will fix it and allow Juice 2.2 to work! You will be able to download your podcast programs under Vista. Itunes a lot of people use but me personally it is slow and bogs down where Ipodder is fast.

Luis Palau's Tampa Bay Festival

This pass weekend was awesome Luis Palau's Tampa Bay Festival was held March 3,-4 it was fun being a volunteer! Crosspointe Church was just 1 of 550 churches there and Crosspointe sister church Calvary Chapel St. Pete (made that up) but we do a lot together so I consider them part of my church and they were there.

I personally talked to 13 kids about if they understood why they were raising their hand for after the invite for Christ was made. I just kept it simple and didn't go in to much I just reassure them that they were going to heaven no matter what happens in their life from this moment on. I even had the pleasure of talking to a Godmother and see all 4 of her Godchildren get save!! That was so awesome.

Saturday March 3, it rain for 8 hours and you have never see worship until you see 40,000 people worshiping in heavy rain and cold weather. What was funny was the rain stopped when Luis Palau took the stage and preach for like 30 mins or so then it started back up when he was done! TobyMac took the stage and rocked the festival.

Sunday March 4, it was like a bright summer day very hot (strange weather) I had fun helping 200+ little kids get on a inflatable slide (my church did inflatable slide, jumping things) it was awesome to see kids from age 3 - 12 so happy. On the main stage Kirk Franklin was awesome and 100,000 people all were hugging each other praising God. Chris Tomlin took the stage and it continue and it was a awesome time.

During both days there was a guy doing the kids stage so we shut down every 2 hours for that. He had a wooded dummy and was having fun with the kids but his puppet was mouthing off about how he didn't need the guy and could do things on it own. The guy said without me you have no life then he took his hand out of the dummy it went limp. The he told the kids that is how we our without Christ I was like choked up that was very powerful. We are dead without Christ! Other words we are dummies with out Christ!!

Windows Vista or is it XP?

Looks like Vista but guess what it is Windows XP! How did I do it and what you will need to convert your desktop to look like Vista:

1)First you need to install a Bricopack (theme) called Vista Inspirat it will gave your pc the looks and feel of Vista and works better then the Vista Transformation Pack you may or may not of heard of and you can download it for free just click on the highlighted link.

One main different is that it comes with the free version of Stardock Objectdock which is that bar on top with all the desktop icons, shortcuts in there. This doesn't come in Microsoft Vista but it is very handy and nice and makes for a clean desktop.

2)Second thing you will need is a sidebar which you can see from the picture is on the right side of the screen. This does not come with the Vista Inspirat theme. It is pretty neat and being worked on to make it better and is called the Vista Sidebar which is a work in process and looks like the real thing. They are working on making it act like the rear sidebar in Vista and will at some point allow you to download Microsoft gadgets and other custom made gadgets made for Vista.

Note: Google Desktop search (sidebar) doesn't work with the Vista Inspirat Bricopack. Then again the goal is to make your pc look like Windows Vista so you will want the Vista Sidebar anyway.

I really do love the Apple ads Hi I am Mac, Hi I am a PC it is funny and the latest one where PC (a.k.a Bill Gates) has to keep asking the security guy to allow it to talk to the Mac (a.k.a Steve Jobs) is great. Apple got the new user account control (UAC) down to the tee. Which is a pain until disable it in Vista.

I am so tired of being told I am an idiot because I am on a PC and not a Mac. If Mac is so good why is it all they can do is put the PC down? Why don't they have ads saying what Apple can do?

What a year so far!

I have been getting surges in the past month or so. I lost half the outlets in my living room which is strange. I can only explain it by a surge but who knows right?

I got it fix by having my outlets rewired which was fun. I have another issue this pass weekend my APC (battery backup unit) which my computer etc is plugged into stop working has a backup device. It still works as a extension cord but not as a backup. When power goes off suppose to come on and after some minutes shutdown your system if power doesn't come back on. I am not sure when I can get it replace

I also lost my microwave this pass weekend! I ended up going out and buying a new one. so my APC will have to wait for a while.

I took Monique (my Dog) in to the vet yesterday for her annual check up and she passed with flying colors. She turns 11 this year hard to believe but she does. It seems just like yesterday that I got her when she was 2 years old. Funny how times flys.

My last post which was about Google and other computer stuff 3 out of 4 comments were spam for crappy software and a gift card WTF?!?

I thank Dave or Juicy Fruiter for his nice comments and an also blog also. He is a park ranger I am looking forward to learning more about his life.

I really do plan to start posting more! Now I know spammer really like this site. I got 1 person and 3 spammers.

Google and other computer stuff

Google, Google, Google! Google is the #1 search engine in the world and have some great tools. We all know Google.com and now Gmail. They are now working on Google Earth which is a kewl 3D look at earth.

They also have Google moon. It is a website where you can look at the moon walks zoom all the way in and the moon turn in to cheese.

Microsoft is the #1 computer company in the world cause they pay compines off and scare everyone but for Google. IE 7, Longhorn why oh why is everything delayed over at Microsoft? Bill Gates don't care about customers. If you disagree I will explain. Bill Gates said he hated tab browser but because he hates the facted Firefox is taken market shares (not because he cares about what customers want) he change his tone.

IE 7 wiill launch early and have tabs. If you read the BS on IE 7 blog site they acted liked they invented tabs and was going to do tabs in Excel, Word etc a long time ago and decided not too.

On other news MS can't seem to launch Longhorn and has taken about 90% of new features out of it. They announce this week Longhorn will boot 50% faster and apps will launch 15% faster. This after they removed the new fat system and other stuff. It is the same thing as in XP they promise you everything then take it out at the end because they can't make a deadline and we got WinME the wrost OS ever out of it. Then they claim they have no clue how to intergrate so you have to wait for the next version.

I think it is time for Bill Gates and Steve Ballmar to retire and give the rings of MS to some young blood. Microsoft is just like my cable company they are always last to do anything but frist to claim they innovate.

Been awhile what have I been doing?

It been a while and I got a lot to share with you. I have been hooked on a new thing called Podcasting. I am not a podcaster but a listener, there are tons of people out there with podcast's on everything and anything you can think of.

The GodCast Network you can listen to podcast about God. My faviote is Klingon Word. That's right folks if you are a die hard Star Trek fan and given up speaking english for Klingon you too can learn what the bible says.

The Tech Podcast Network is another great site where you can listen to a ton of great podcasts on computer and tech related news. If you are new to computers or just want to learn more listen to my friend Victor Cajiao podcast Typical PC User. He has a lot of tips from how to turn on a pc to how to keep your pc running smooth and fast.

You can also use Itunes 4.9 to subscribe this would be the best way for people who is just starting out listening. They have 1000's of podcast listed in the Itunes Music Store all free to subscribe and listen to.

What else have I been up to? I am thinking of doing a computer tips and help blog since I have 2 accounts here. Maybe not all computer tips but something to prove I am an high geek after all I scored 80%.

The in thing now is to date a geek this was reported on Geek News Central. This geek is single ladies but, you must believe in Jesus if you want me. Computers may came and go but where we end up will be forever.

Computer is back to normal

What a mess my problems are over! Yesterday I got my brand new Western Digital 250gb hd which was replace under warrenty. I have it hooked up and everything is working great! I still have not finish installing everything but I am getting there.

I also sold my new CPU that I ended up not needed for $80 so I made back my $74 and the person paid for shipping cost. I should get paid next week and get that in the mail.

Funny thing happen to night I loging to write and found out I have two http://www.blogger.com accounts. It seems that somehow I been here before under another name. How I figure this out was I logged in and freaked out my blog wasn't listed under my dashboard.

Anyway I am happy everything is getting back to normal.

I forget a lot of my password or am just too damn lazy to fill out forms etc that it seems most websites have now these days. If you like to shop 90% of the stuff I buy is from a online store I don't really know what inside of a store looks like. I do like to go to Wall-Mart with my friends from church but, that's about it.

Banks sites,retail sites etc how is the best way to remember passwords and auto fill forms? The app I use and really love is RoboForm you can download a free version and start letting it remember what you can't! It has the fuction to remember credit cards numbers and you can password any site or form information. So I have it set to password protect my credit card information. Also it has a password maker if you can't think of one. You can back up the information very easy if you ever have to format or change computers.

There is also a pro version for $29.99 but the free edition it seems to work fine for my needs. It is made for Internet Explorer but there is a plug in for Firefox also.

Computer problems and I mean problems!

What a week I had last week and it doesn't seem to be over yet. My friend computer got hit by a serge a month ago and she just got a new motherboard. I put it in with help from her son and went to load WindowsXP and it kept crashing. I ran some test and found out her memory was bad now stay with me.

I went home and took out 1gb of ram to loan to a friend (nice to have 2gb in my system) and didn't know I knocked out the cpu fan plug. so I turned on my pc and booted in to Windows and after a min poof my pc went off. So I assume (ass-u-me) I burned up my cpu so I ordered a new cpu. This was on Tuesday 4/5 on Thursday I wanted to see the damage for myself. So I took the heatsink and fan off and popped out the cpu. I was surprise the cpu looked normal no burned marks. So I put it back in with the heatsink and fan and plugged everything back in. My pc booted up ok. Only problem I had was the fact that my main hd my WD 250gb was damage.

I called WDC and I am now waiting on a new hd to come sometime this week. I borrow a 40gb hd so I could get online for the time being. I have another 250gb hd filled with mp3's about 11k worth so I was happy that drive was ok. I would be crying right now if I lost all my music.

ASUS C.O.P. worked CPU overheating protecting which is design to shut down pc before cpu gets damage.
